Haha, anyway, to know a little about my experience with Maplestory, I've been playing for maybe two years. My first character was an archer and it's a very low level, around 25, mostly because Nexon (the Korean company who made Maplestory) made it very hard to level up. I was one of them until a new class came out and I started a new character last summer (the summer of 2010) and it's now my main character. Many Maplers decided to discontinue until the new patch called Big Bang which allowed Maplers to quickly manuever through Victoria Island in the Maple World (there are several islands in the Maple World and Victoria is where most Maplers start depending on their class) and level up.
As for my post title, Ryuusei-kun, I was playing with my main character this Winter Break when I decided it was time I finally tried a party battle called Monster Carnival (you make a party of 2-4 players and verse each other by killing monsters and trying to stack up points, you can use these points to summon monsters on your opponents side of the field so that they would be overwhelm and die, causing them to lose 10 CP, points). When playing this, a lot of people usually do trade-wars meaning you purposely allow the other team to win and then trade off so that both sides are able to gain experience points.
I found myself in a party of level 40s when I said, "JPQ" meaning "joining party quest." Even though I was barely above the minimum level to play, one of the guys in the group I was in decided he liked me and asked me to be his partner. And so, the competition began. As we continued to play, Ryuusei-kun, my partner, was really nice towards me even though I continuously died due to my low level. Whenever I said, "I'm sorry' he would always give the encouraging, "It's okay :D" and then "say" to the monster who had killed me, "You killed my Evan, now die!" In a few short moments I was able to power up two whole levels and each time he would say, "Congrats! :)" Funnily enough, even though we were supposed to trade partners every round he stubbornly wanted to stay mine and requested to be my buddy. And when his friend, James, made fun of me (through their buddy chat) he said, "Back off her." aloud. o.o (Her, meaning me. DX) He even gave me a Maple Staff which is purchased through the Maplestory Christmas Event using snow crystals. Snow crystals are found when the Christmas Tree is full of decorations donated by Maplers and it explodes. You can even get a golden snowflake if you're lucky to purchase other items such as mysterious scrolls to power up your equipment.
What surprised me the most is that after I logged off and came back a few hours later was that he was on his main character; a level 100 warrior. X.x Either way, I thought that was kind of interesting so I decided to post it; I guess it's good to be a n00b (low-level player/beginner) sometimes. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this long post! ^_^
